Gold Bond is one of those things that’s always in my dog first aid kit. It’s readily available at any pharmacy, so it’s easy to find.
I often use it in the summer on itchy dogs. They get chafed between their ‘leg pits’ (as I like to call them!). It has a nice cooling sensation on contact and instantly relieves itching. It can also be used as a preventative measure for sticky, sweaty leg-pits in the summer. I have yet to meet a dog who doesn’t love the sensation of me gently rubbing their tummy with it.
I recently pulled it out to use on Pickles, the frenchie (see photos above) as his little harness has been rubbing under his legs. This is a very common problem with the webbing harnesses, but Gold Bond saved the day! Now his little leg-pits are comfortable and well on their way to healing up. In the photos you can clearly see his red, irritated skin before one use of Gold Bond and then the HUGE difference afterwards!
